Director of Development — Ben Porat Yosef (BPY)
Paramus, NJ | Salary Range: $85,000–$105,000 | In-Person | Full Time
Ben Porat Yosef (BPY) is more than a school — it’s a dynamic, deeply rooted Modern Orthodox community devoted to nurturing the potential of every child. Since its founding in 2001, BPY has grown into a premier yeshiva day school serving ~500 students from Early Childhood through 8th Grade with a fully integrated curriculum of General and Judaic Studies. We are guided by Torah values, academic excellence, and a commitment to raising the next generation of confident, compassionate Jewish leaders.
We are seeking a strategic, passionate, and highly organized Director of Development to lead BPY’s philanthropic efforts and grow its culture of giving. This role drives fundraising initiatives and community engagement that support our educational mission and long-term growth. Reporting to the Associate Head of School, the Director will work closely with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and cross-functional teams, supported by a network of dedicated lay leaders.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
Lead all fundraising efforts, including the Annual Campaign, corporate and legacy giving, capital/endowment campaigns. Implement strategic plans, ensure transparent reporting, and collaborate with Finance and Communications to reflect BPY’s mission and values in every message and campaign.
Event Management:
Plan and execute major events (e.g., Annual Dinner, Spring Celebration), overseeing all logistics — from budgeting and venue selection to donor recognition and post-event analysis. Partner across departments to ensure events deepen donor engagement and celebrate our community.
Stakeholder & Volunteer Engagement:
Recruit and manage event volunteers and campaign committees. Partner with the Major Gifts Committee to identify and cultivate donors, including parents, alumni, and community leaders.
Who You Are:
You bring at least 5 years of experience in development, events, or nonprofit fundraising. You’re a confident project manager, a relationship-builder, and a compelling communicator. You’re passionate about Jewish education, energized by mission-driven work, and excited to grow with a collaborative team. Experience with donor stewardship, event planning, and data management is essential.
Why BPY?
Join a vibrant institution committed to both rigorous education and soulful connection. Be a part of a school where your work directly impacts future generations.
